Dawn began exhibiting her work while pursuing her undergraduate studies in interior design and art history. During her graduate studies in fine art, she also launched her career as an art educator. Over the years, she has taught in parochial, public, and charter schools, working with students from pre-kindergarten through pre-college levels.

Much of her teaching career was spent at the South Bronx Charter School for International Cultures and the Arts, where she directed arts programming across three campuses. Alongside a team of fellow art educators, she developed a robust, exhibition-based curriculum that emphasized fine art specialties and cross-curricular integration.

In 2015, Dawn returned her focus to the studio and has since exhibited her work across the United States and Europe.
