About Dawn’s Studio Process

Dawn’s work begins before an image.  Narratives and aesthetic concepts take place through first-hand observation gradually evolving into thoughts on paper.  As the creative process unfolds, experimentation with technique and medium opens up a momentum of possibilities.

In Dawn’s relief carvings, the interplay of positive and negative space is layered with color to build texture, form, and meaning.  As the vision comes to focus, the medium responds and interacts.  Often teetering on the edge of abstraction, Dawn’s art invite viewers to interact, reflect, and return to them again and again.

Dawn has exhibited across the United States and Europe and has received several awards for her work. She is an active member of the Center for Contemporary Printmaking (Connecticut, USA) and the Mamaroneck Artists Guild (New York, USA).
